Thalia Stone is a dancer and choreographer whose practice unsettles the assumed, resists the scripts that
pathologise and contain distress, and interrogates sanist approaches to meaning-making.
Central to her choreographic research is the Opposite Practice: a methodology that disrupts perceptual
hierarchies and rehearses alternative possibilities. Through choreography and performance, she is interested
in staging the inner architectures of the mind and exploring how attention, interpretation, embodiment and
learned structures of meaning can be disrupted and reconfigured.
Her work develops through solo and ensemble performance, site-responsive work, film and collaborative
processes.
